TFCE Welcomes The Rev. John Ohmer

In a targeted search guided by Diocesan leaders, and after much prayer, the Vestry of The Falls Church Episcopal has discerned a new Rector, The Reverend John Ohmer.  Thanks be to God!

Fr. John has led St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg, Virginia for over a decade, and his staff and Vestry have high praise for his leadership and his pastoral care.  "He is a visionary and a man of God," is a typical description.

Prior to studying for the priesthood, John was a professional staff member on Capitol Hill.  He is a blogger, a father of three, a prolific writer, and a contributor to the newsletter of the Diocesan Convention, The Center Aisle.

On his clergy day off, he can often be found hiking with his dog on the Appalachian Trail.  He is a firm believer in shared ministries, dreaming large, and not keeping one's treasure buried.  John's sermons and evidence of his leadership can be found on the St. James website:  www.stjamesleesburg.org.

Reverend John Ohmer began his ministry at The Falls Church Episcopal on Sunday, September 9.
