Special Events

Parish Events

Dinners for Eight

Each month, members of the parish gather for small dinner parties.   This is a fun and informal way to get to know the members of the parish, enjoy conversation, and share a meal together.

Dates

The date of the dinner is subject to change each month, but are always held on a Saturday night.

Please watch the Sunday Bulletin for an announcement or check the Calendar tab at the top of this page.

 Register

Email Nancy Councilor at parishlife@tfce.us or add your name to the paper sign-up sheet at the coffee hour after the Sunday services. Please also indicate if you are interested in hosting one of the dinners.

These dinners are organized by Nancy Councilor of the Parish Life Committee.

Blessing of the Animals

Each October
Historic Church Steps

This special service is usually held the first Sunday of October to offer a blessing for the animals in our lives.

Bring the animals in your lives for a blessing in honor of St. Francis.  Invite your friends to bring their pets, too.  All are welcome.

Shrine Mont Annual Family Retreat

Columbus Day Weekend

Each October, the parish offers a family weekend retreat to the Shrine Mont retreat center in the Shenandoah Mountains.  The retreat is typically scheduled for Columbus Day weekend each year.

Activities

This is a chance to meet and spend time with the members of the parish and your family, and relax and reflect in the peace and beauty of the mountains.

Activities include a bonfire with s’mores and a sing-along, hiking, star-gazing, zip-lining, golf, board games, and family-style meals.
