Blessing of the Animals
Sunday, October 6, 2013
Historic Church Steps
This special service is usually held the first Sunday of October to offer a blessing for the animals in our lives.
Bring the animals in your lives for a blessing in honor of St. Francis. Invite your friends to bring their pets, too. All are welcome.
Shrine Mont Annual Family Retreat
October 11-13, 2013
Each October, the parish offers a family retreat to the Shrine Mont retreat center in the Shenandoah Mountains.
This is a chance to meet and spend time with the members of the parish and your family, and relax and reflect in the peace and beauty of the mountains.
Activities include a bonfire with s’mores and a sing-along, hiking, star-gazing, zip-lining, golf, board games, and family-style meals.
Each year, a guest speaker enlightens our understanding of a specific thematic topic while supervised activities are provided for children. This year's speaker is The Rev. Jose McLoughlin, Canon to the Ordinary, Episcopal Dioscese of Oklahoma.
