The Reverend John Ohmer
Rector
The Rev. John Ohmer joined the Falls Church Episcopal as our Rector in September of 2012, after having led the growing, vibrant congregation of St. James’ Episcopal Church in Leesburg, Virginia for the past 13 years. He is a graduate of Wabash College, earning an A.B. in Philosophy in 1984. Prior to entering Virginia Theological Seminary in 1994, he had a brief career in government and politics, having worked as a Capitol Hill staff member and as a press secretary and speech writer in his home state of Indiana.
During his years of ordained ministry, John has served on the Board of Directors of Samaritan Ministry for the Homeless in Washington D.C., and on the Diocese of Virginia’s Commission on Ministry and Resolutions Committee. He has authored a weekly column titled “Faithfully Yours,” and has covered the past four General Conventions as an issues writer for the Diocese of Virginia’s “Center Aisle.” He blogs at Unapologetic Theology.
John and his wife Mary have three children: a son at Virginia Commonwealth University, another son at James Madison University, and a daughter in high school.

The Reverend Cathy Tibbetts
Vicar
The Rev. Cathy Tibbetts grew up in Charlotte, N.C. where she attended The University of N.C.-Charlotte, earning a B.S. Degree in Nursing. Afterwards she attended the School of Public Health at the University of Pittsburgh, adding a Master of Public Health Degree. Prior to attending Virginia Theological Seminary Cathy had a long career in health management specializing in the care and treatment of individuals suffering with Diabetes. Throughout her career in healthcare Cathy was an active volunteer with the American Diabetes Association, serving on the ADA’s national board of directors and in 2004 was elected the association’s national President of Healthcare and Education.
In 2005 Cathy responded to a call to ordained ministry graduating in May of 2008 from Virginia Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree. Following seminary and ordination Cathy joined the staff at The Falls Church Episcopal as Assistant for Children’s Education and Ministry. Cathy and her husband Clark have four grown children. Cathy currently serves The Falls Church Episcopal as Interim Priest-in-Charge and Co-Chairs the Diocese of Virginia’s Committee on Prevention of Abuse and Misconduct.

The Rev. Michael Hinson
Interim Priest Associate
The Rev. Michael Hinson leads our youth group andparticipates in planning our Christian Education program. During the school year, he serves as a Chaplain for St. Stephen's and St. Agnes School and is a member of the faculty as an 8th grade teacher. Email Fr. Michael.
Julie Huang
Minister of Music
Julie Huang studied organ at Cornell University and earned her Master's in Organ Performance under a scholarship at the University of Oklahoma. She was a finalist in the Arthur Poister National Organ Competition, the winner of the Oklahoma Troxel Competition, and a participant in the International Organ Festival in the Netherlands. Her playing has been featured on National Public Radio's "Pipe Dreams." Her work with prisoners and underprivileged children in Cape Town culminated in directing the Amy Biehl Foundation Choir in a concert with Bishop Desmond Tutu. She has performed, taught, and served as a church musician in MA, MD, VA, NY, OK and South Africa and was apprenticed in organ building at C.B. Fisk and the American Organ Institute. Julie has received the Who's Who Among Students Award, the American Musicological Society’s Committee on Cultural Diversity Fellowship, and the E.M. Johnson Writing Award. Her article on Albert Schweitzer was published in Musicians and Composers of the 20th Century (Salem Press, 2009).
Julie directs the adult and children's choirs and serves as parish organist and pianist. In conjunction with the Worship Comittee she plans liturgy and programs music for weekly and special services.
