Worship

Our Worship Ministry is responsible for leading worship for the congregation. Lay ministers are essential to fulfilling the mission of our parish and to the care of the members of our community. Volunteers are welcome for the following ministries. Training is provided each spring and fall for volunteers, but new volunteers are welcome year round. Please email the respective contact listed below for information or to volunteer.

Everything from candles to sermons is coordinated together with the help of our priests and laity. It is our intention to include people of all ages in the leadership of worship, and opportunities exist for young and old alike in areas such as Acolytes, Altar Guild, Eucharistic Ministers and more. Read on to see where you might help to lead.

We encourage the active participation of young people as lay ministers on Sunday mornings.

Acolytes

Acolytes assist with worship by carrying the processional cross, lighting candles, and holding the Gospel book. Youth age 10 and older are invited to serve as acolytes. Email Cathy Tibbetts.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild prepares the altar and the worship space for Eucharist each Sunday. These volunteers care for the Parish’s linens and vestments, chalices and vessels. This ministry provides the opportunity to be actively and prayerfully involved in the Eucharist. Email Kathi Dutilh for information.

Lay Readers

Volunteer to read the lessons during Sunday services. Responsibilities rotate among all the volunteers, requiring your participation about once every-other-month. Contact Joe Ewbank to volunteer.

Chalice Bearers

Volunteers to distribute the Eucharistic wine are needed on a weekly basis to assist with Holy Communion. Email Cathy Tibbetts.

Ushers

Ushers help the Sunday worship run smoothly by helping visitors find seats, passing the collection plates during the Offertory, dismissing pews during Communion, and assisting elsewhere in the service as needed. Email Jason Matechak.
